I know, I've been so bad about keeping up with this blog. Our life seemed to turn upside down in May. The husband took a new job that was clear across the country, in Nevada. He moved to get started, search for a house for us while G.Q. and I stayed back in South Carolina to finish out the school year and pack up the house to prepare for the move.
Some of you may know that we've moved a lot in the past nine years, so I feel like I'm a pro and can handle a move with my hands tied behind my back. For any other move, I'd agree, but things changed with this one. G.Q. has always been an infant or preschool-aged for previous moves. Moving with a school-aged kiddo, it's not so easy. It was rough on him, to say the least, and we're still recovering. I'll tell you more about that later.
For now, we've started school last week. First grade! Where did the time go, because I swear I was just nursing and changing diapers for this little guy and now he's in first grade! He told me he learned some German on Friday. I remember when all he said was "no" and would laugh and shake his head at me. Does anybody know how to stop time? I just got a little side-tracked there, sorry. Anyway, the first week of school was successful, I think. We had some moments but more good than bad, so I'm checking it off as successful.
After a long week of school schedules and getting back to routines, we get a nice long weekend! Perfect for us to rest up and prepare for school, PTA meetings and all that comes along with that. Oh, the PTA, yes PTA, not PTO. G.Q.'s school is official PTA, I'm a card carrying member. Seriously. Not sure what my card gets me, but maybe I'll have some info on that next week, we have a meeting on Tuesday.
Have a nice holiday weekend!
