Going on a safarsi...

Yesterday we celebrated GQ's 4th birthday a few days early with a trip to Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, NC. It was a really fun day and so cool to feed all the animals as we rode in a horse-drawn wagon through the acres of wild animals. It was something to see them all run up to the wagon waiting to eat from your hand or bucket. There were some sort of cow and/or yak things that walked up to you and just opened their mouths waiting for you to drop food in; it was the funniest thing. The highlight of the ride, at least for me and the husband was feeding the giraffes. I've never been close enough to pet them on the head! You really don't realize how large they are until you're that close. It was amazing...they are such beautiful creatures! Anyway, I just wanted to share a couple of our pictures from the day. I took lots but some didn't turn out so great...it's hard to take pictures, feed the animals and make sure they're not going to take a bite of my fingers or GQ's all at the same time.

GQ had a blast and keeps telling us that he had fun on the safarsi! He's still raving about it this morning!

I love feeding the giraffes! That's the only reason we visit our local zoo. The first picture looks a little scary without reading the post! lol.
