Kick-Stand Challenge Card

Here my interpretation of a kick-stand card. I'm not 100% satisfied w/this baby, but all in all, I like it. I would like it a little more if I had used some coordinating patterned-paper to jazz it up a bit. Too late now, the glue is dry :)

If you'd like to see another cool kick-stand card take a look at Karie's blog, she has a great giraffe example. It's an awesome stamped-image and her coloring of it is amazing. Hopefully I'll get my coloring to be up to par w/her's eventually.

I bought a really cool punch and had to give it a try!

It's such an awesome paper punch, it makes paper look like you've pulled it out of a spiral notebook. Here was my first attempt at using it. And the stamp set I used for this card is one I've had for a while and hadn't used. I like it, I'm just sort of lacking ideas when it comes to using it. I sort of like what I came up with here.

Monochromatic Christmas Card

These are two of the new Stampin' Up! In-Colors. Bayou Blue and Sky Blue, I believe. This is a Christmas card that I made for somebody...I can't say who incase you might be getting one of these cards in a few months. The image is stamped on shimmer paper, I don't know if that is visible in the scan? It gives the card a pretty, yet subtle, sparkle.

Challenge #1 Card

My friend, Karie, just started a yahoo group and invited me to join. She is going to post challenges for card making and we have 24 hours to post our interpretation.

This weeks challenge was to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. Red, Green, Blue, Silver weren't allowed. I had to use green, but I used a non-Christmas green. And I used another of my new penguin stamps.

Great challenge Karie! And way to get me working on my Christmas cards...it will be here before we all know it!

What? Christmas Cards? Already?

Yep! I received some adorable Christmas stamps in the mail today and was so excited to use them. This is my second set from My Favorite Things and I can't wait to buy more; they have some of the cutest stamp sets! The purple penguin card has an iridescent heat embossing on random snow flakes, the rest are just watermarked. And the penguin is on a 3-d adhesive, attached to the inside of the card. And on the inside of the card there is a snow trail behind him using stickles. The blue penguin card is just stamped and colored with water colors and some stickles for sparkle. I also heat embossed the Seasons Greetings.

I've been looking at my blog and noticing what a crappy scanner I am. All my pictures are cock-eyed! (insert Jason laughing here) Sorry, but I'm usually racing to get these things scanned and onto the blog before Gavin wakes from his nap. And I'm too lazy to get the camera, take a picture, pull the memory card out, load it on the computer, save it to my card files, etc... So, I am apologizing here and now for all my cock-eyed postings (insert Jason laughing here again;)

One more possible invite

I was looking around for ideas and came across this one http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/616361 and just loved it. I didn't CASE the exact invite, but used it for inspiration. My card has a light pink full inside that the invite information would be printed on.

Some invitation examples I made today

Here are a few invitation possibilities I made this afternoon. Nothing fancy, the bella one is fun, the cake is too. And the monogram is just a clean and simple design. I still need to work on a couple more, I think I could figure out something a little fancier.
